Ur

Med styrka, kom;
med skapelse, kom.
Ur medför mycket regn.
Med styrka, kom;
med skapelse, kom.
Regn rensar och föder.

Ur, power of the wild ox; give to me strength where strength has failed. May the energy of the earth flow through me, to create and to drive. When the world breaks my back, may it see the fury in my eyes, which pulls me to my feet. Ur, I shall make my path; I shall not yield.

“Aurochs is fearless and greatly horned,
A very fierce beast, it fights with its horns.
A famous roamer of the moor, it is a very courageous animal.”
-Anglo-Saxon rune poem

In you I see the cycle of rainfall and drizzle; the cycle of water falling to nourish the plants upon the earth, which shall release it to the air again. In your form I see the pattern of breaking and rebuilding. The drizzle at harvest destroys the crop, but all is reborn again. Energy is constant; drawn from the earth and used, only to be put back to the earth again.

“Drizzle is weeping of the clouds,
and destruction of the hay-harvest,
and abhorrence of the herdsman.”
-Icelandic rune poem

As slag rises from iron, and snow cleanses the land, Uruz reshapes the old to build a better new. Endlessly it cleanses and creates new patterns, always improving upon itself. It is evolution of creative force.

“Slag comes from poor iron:
Often the reindeer runs over the hard-frozen snow.”
-Norwegian rune poem

Med styrka, kom;
med skapelse, kom.
Ur medför mycket regn.
Med styrka, kom;
med skapelse, kom.
Regn rensar och föder.
